UH's Judd WAC's top softball player

University of Hawai'i shortstop Kate Judd repeated as Western Athletic Conference softball Player of the Year and was one of four Rainbow Wahine to make the all-conference team announced yesterday.

Joining Judd, a junior from Australia, on the first team in balloting by the conference's coaches were first baseman Stacey Porter, second baseman Natalie Gonzales and outfielder Denise Dahlberg.
Rainbow Wahine shortstop Kate Judd batted .414 to lead the WAC.
Judd, Porter and Gonzales all made the first team last year as well.
Jamie Southern of conference champion Fresno State is the Pitcher and Freshman of the Year. Tulsa's James Pinkerton was voted Coach of the Year.
Judd led the conference in hitting (.414 average) and runs scored (14), and was second in hits (29) and third in home runs (5).
She is only the second player in WAC history to earn two Player of the Year awards and the first to do it in consecutive seasons.
