Parents and other people who deal with adopted children are encouraged to attend "Truth and Identity in Adoption," a conference to be held 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday at Ala Moana Hotel. The conference will provide information and explore issues involving adoptees, adoptive parents and birth parents through guest speakers, and panel and small-group discussions, said Dan Watanabe, director of development and external affairs for Child and Family Service.
The event costs $45 and is open to parents, adoption professionals and those who have been adopted. It is sponsored by Child and Family Service and the Hawai'i Adoption and Permanency Planning Alliance. To register or for details, call 543-8402.
