Weddings

Ashley Courtney-Taryn Battung, daughter of Virginia Araki of 'Ewa Beach and hanai daughter of Arthur Goodman Solomon of Kalihi, and Reid Keoki Smith, son of Clifford Reid Smith and Cecilia "Chiyo" Smith of Mililani, were married Feb. 2 in Hale Moli'i at Kualoa Ranch. The reception followed at Hale Moli'i. The bride (1996 Farrington High), now Ashley Courtney-Taryn Smith, is a film and television production coordinator. The groom (1992 Mililani High) is a film and television lighting technician. They live in Honolulu.

Becky L. Kalani, daughter of Alfred and Jacqueline Kalani of Mililani, and Ramil S. Farinas, son of Benjamin and Elizabeth Farinas of Wai'anae, were married Nov. 17, 2001, at Kapolei Golf Course. The reception followed at Mililani Recreation Center III. The bride, now Becky L. Farinas, is a licensed practical nurse. The groom is an equipment operator. They have two sons, Zachary, 8, and Jaycee, 5, and they live in Mililani.

Engagements

Mike Byrne of Grass Valley, Calif., Joann Byrne of Berkeley, Calif., Richard and Diane Wright of Honolulu, and Jim and Teresa Ingham of Honolulu, have announced the engagement of their children, Jill Elizabeth Byrne and Jason Likeke Wright. Jill Byrne is of Berkeley. Jason Wright, of Irvine, Calif., formerly of Honolulu, is an information technology specialist. They plan to marry June 22 in El Cerrito, Calif.

Nicole Fox and Richard Marshall have announced their engagement. Fox, of Kane'ohe, formerly of Annapolis, Md., is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert St. Clair of Ocean City, Md., and is a Navy lieutenant. Marshall, of Kane'ohe, is the son of Richard and Kathy Marshall of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, and is a Navy lieutenant. They plan to be wed July 27 in Annapolis.
