Heads of several prominent local private and government organizations i including Hawaiian Airlines and the Hawai'i Visitor and Conventions Bureau i will provide updates of how various segments of the local visitor industry are faring since Sept. 11 i and what they plan to do to improve business at a panel discussion. "TURNING YOUR ARTS AND CRAFTS INTO A BUSINESS," a workshop for artists and craftspeople interested in entrepreneurial opportunities outside of craft fairs, will be offered on two dates this week, co-sponsored by the Hawaii Small Business Development Center. A series of workshops for small business owners and prospective entrepreneurs will be at Kapolei Hale beginning today. Sponsored by the Hawai'i Women's Business Center, in partnership with the Mayor's Office of Economic Development and the U.S. Small Business Administration, training sessions will be offered to include e-commerce, business success secrets, business planning and bookkeeping, government contracting, marketing and more.

Adobe's newest Macintosh version of Photoshop (Photoshop 7.0) program for editing and modifying digital images will be demonstrated at a free gathering at 6:30 p.m. tomorrow at McCoy Pavilion, Ala Moana Park. The demonstration is sponsored by the Hawai'i Apple and Macintosh Users society. Winners of the 2002 University of Hawai'i Business Plan Competition will be presented at a Thursday luncheon meeting of the HAWAI'I VENTURE CAPITAL ASSOCIATION. The BUILDING INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION OF HAWAI'I has extended to May 31 the entry deadline for the 17th Annual Renaissance Building and Remodeling Awards.
