Weekly honors

Kamehameha golf
Senior shot a 1-under 71 in the state boys championship first round and a 1-over 73 in the second round at Leilehua Golf Course to finish in a three-way tie for second place individually and lead the Warriors to their first team title.

• Ginger gravelle
Iolani basketball
Sophomore forward scored 20 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead the Raiders to a 60-35 victory over Lahainaluna in the state tournament first round, grabbed six rebounds in a 50-29 quarterfinal win over Kalaheo, scored 16 points in a semifinal loss to Punahou and had 20 points in a third-place victory over Kahuku.

Konawaena basketball
Sophomore center scored 10 points and grabbed nine rebounds in a 46-38 loss to Punahou in the state tournament first round, scored 16 points and grabbed eight rebounds in a 62-48 consolation bracket victory over Kalaheo and scored a game-high 19 points in the Wildcats' 49-37 fifth-place win over Baldwin.

Waiakea golf
Senior won his second straight state championship by shooting a 6-under 66 in the first round and following with a 2-over 74 in the second round at Leilehua Golf Course, winning the title by four strokes.

Mid-Pacific baseball
Senior won Most Outstanding Player honors in the state tournament after notching a win in relief of a 3-2 first-round victory over 'Aiea, pitching a four-hitter against Kailua in the semifinals and earning another victory by recording the final seven outs of a 6-3 win over Kamehameha in the championship game.

Roosevelt baseball
Senior pitched a three-hitter to lead the Rough Riders to a 7-4 victory over Maui in the state tournament first round, then pitched a five-inning no-hitter in a third-place win over Kailua.

Kamehameha basketball
Senior forward scored a season-high 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds in a 73-61 state semifinal victory over Kahuku and had 16 points and seven rebounds in the Warriors' 45-42 championship win over Punahou, including two free throws with 10.7 seconds remaining to give them a 3-point lead.

• LEHUA WOOD
Kamehameha basketball
Junior guard scored a season-high 13 points and helped to hold high-scoring Kelci Naihe to two first-half points in a 73-61 state semifinal victory over Kahuku, then held Punahou's Rachel Kane to one point in the Warriors' 45-42 victory in the championship game.

Other standouts

• BURT BONK, Hawai'i Prep golf — Freshman won medalist honors in the state tournament second round by firing a 3-under 69, helping him finish the two-day tournament in a second-place tie with a score of 144.

• BENSON CHANG, Kahuku golf — Made a hole-in-one during the state championship's second round at Leilehua Golf Course, using a 6-iron to ace the 183-yard No. 5.

• MEGAN CHING, Kamehameha basketball — Junior guard scored 16 points in a 73-61 semifinal victory over Kahuku, then scored 10 points — including a putback with 40 seconds remaining and two free throws with 29 seconds left — and grabbed 10 rebounds to help the Warriors defeat Punahou, 45-42, in the state championship game.

SHANNA-LEI DACANAY, Punahou basketball — Freshman guard scored 12 points, all in the second half, including two 3-pointers in the final 48 seconds, to help the Buffanblu rally late in their 45-42 loss to Kamehameha in the state championship game.

IKENA DUPONT, Kamehameha baseball — Pitched 6á innings of scoreless relief to help the Warriors defeat Wai'anae, 8-4, in the state tournament quarterfinals.

FATAI HALA'API'API, Lahainaluna basketball — Junior center scored nine points and grabbed 11 rebounds in the Lunas' state tournament first-round loss to Iolani, had 10 points and a tournament-high 17 rebounds in a 50-31 consolation bracket victory over Pearl City, and scored 15 points in a 48-43 consolation final loss to Waiakea.

JESSICA HANATO, Konawaena basketball — Freshman wing scored 12 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in a 46-38 state tournament first-round loss to Punahou and scored 20 points and grabbed five rebounds in a 62-48 consolation bracket victory over Kalaheo.

PATTI HARDIMON, Moanalua basketball — Junior point guard scored a game-high 14 points, including 4-of-5 free throw attempts in the fourth period, and grabbed nine rebounds to lead the Menehune to a 35-32 state tournament first-round victory over Waiakea, then had a game-high 16 points and seven rebounds in a 41-38 near-upset of No. 1 seed Kamehameha in the quarterfinals.

BECKY HOGUE, Punahou basketball — Junior center scored 11 points and grabbed six rebounds in the Buffanblu's 61-34 state tournament first round victory over Pearl City, scored 10 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in a 55-41 semifinal win over Iolani, and had 15 points in a 45-42 championship loss to Kamehameha.

ADAM INABA, Mililani baseball — Senior pitched a four-hitter with four strikeouts and one walk to lead the Trojans to a 5-0 victory over St. Joseph in the state tournament first round.

RACHEL KANE, Punahou basketball — Junior guard scored 14 points and grabbed six rebounds in a 46-38 state tournament first-round victory over Konawaena, had 19 points, nine rebounds and 10 steals in a 55-41 semifinal win over Iolani and had 10 rebounds and six steals in a 45-42 championship loss to Kamehameha.

KAMI KAPAKU, Baldwin basketball — Sophomore guard scored 14 points in a state tournament quarterfinal loss to Kahuku, had a game-high 17 points in a 39-35 consolation bracket victory over Moanalua and scored 16 points in a fifth-place loss to Konawaena.

ASHLEY KUALI'I, Waiakea basketball — Senior guard scored a state tournament-high 21 points in a 51-41 consolation bracket victory over Kapa'a.

CAMERON KIMURA, Roosevelt baseball — Junior pitched a seven-inning complete game and went 2-for-3 with a triple and RBI to help the Rough Riders edge Hilo, 6-5, in the state tournament quarterfinals.

HARRISON KURODA, Mid-Pacific baseball — Pitched six innings of effective relief to help the Owls defeat Baldwin, 11-6, in the state quarterfinals.

MEREANI LEWENILOVO, Kahuku basketball — Senior center scored 23 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Red Raiders to a 65-40 victory over Kapa'a in the first round of the state tournament.

MATT MA, Iolani golf — Shot rounds of 3-under 69 and 3-over 75 at Leilehua Golf Course to finish in a three-way tie for second place at the state championships, also helping the Raiders finish third in the team standings.

TRISHA NISHIMOTO, Iolani basketball — Senior guard scored 10 points and grabbed four rebounds despite playing only 18 minutes because of a mild concussion in the second quarter of the Raiders' 60-35 victory over Lahainaluna in the state tournament first round, then had a game-high 19 points while fighting a stomach flu to lead Iolani to a 50-29 upset of Kalaheo in the semifinals.

KAMAILE SANTOS, Kailua baseball — Senior pitched a seven-inning complete game and went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs in a 5-3 victory over Mililani in the state quarterfinals.
