By Wayne Harada

Six acts, playing their signature hits in the first half of the show, then combining forces to explore the Beatles songbook in the second act, will launch a summer tour of "A Walk Down Abbey Road" on O'ahu and Mau'i next month.

"Abbey Road" will showcase the solo artistry of these pop-rock favorites:

  • Christopher Cross, an Oscar and Grammy winner.
  • Todd Rundgren, former leader of Nazz.
  • Eric Carmen, former lead singer of Raspberrys.
  • Alan Parsons, an integral force of the studio band, the Alan Parsons Project.
  • Jack Bruce, formerly of Cream.
  • Mark Farner, a force in Grand Funk Railroad.

The concerts will be at 7:30 p.m. June 15 at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center Amphitheater and 7:30 p.m. June 16 at the Blaisdell Arena.

The show is structured to feature the classic rock of the pioneer popsters. After intermission, they'll join forces in a tribute to the Beatles.

Tickets are $35, on sale Friday at both Blaisdell and MACC box offices, and at Ticket Plus outlets.
