Three Hawai'i sailors honored by college yacht racing association

University of Hawai'i senior Molly O'Bryan, sophomore Jennifer Warnock and freshman Bryan Lake earned All-Pacific Coast Intercollegiate Yacht Racing Association (PCIYRA) honors.
O'Bryan made the All-PCIYRA women's team, Warnock the All-PCIYRA crew team and Lake the All-PCIYRA coed team.
Hawai'i will participate in the three Intercollegiate Sailing Association North American Championships, May 29-June 7, at the Marine Education and Training Center at Ke'ehi Lagoon.
BEACH VOLLEYBALL
Today goes to beach: Punahou graduates Stein Metzger and Kevin Wong are scheduled to appear on the "Today Show" tomorrow morning.
Metzger and Wong are seeded first at this week's Huntington Beach Open, the first Association of Volleyball Professionals (AVP) tournament of the season. The team has never been seeded first, but won two events together last year.
Lee LeGrande and Sean Scott also Punahou graduates are ranked in the Top 10 individually. LeGrande will play with indoor Olympian Mike Lambert, yet another Punahou graduate. Kevin Wong's younger brother Scott is playing with Chris Makos this week.
The $125,000 tournament opens Friday with qualifying. Saturday and Sunday 32 men's teams and 24 women's teams will compete for the titles. Fox Sports Net will air the finals the following Saturday.
ALOHA STATE GAMES
Competitions set: The Aloha State Games begin June 22, with the "Celebration of Athletes" at Ala Moana Park, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The games will run through August, and includes basketball, track and field, water polo, soccer, karate and wrestling.

CAMPS
UH softball: University of Hawai'i coach Bob Coolen and his staff and players will conduct two softball camps at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium next month.
Girls ages 8-12 are invited to the first camp, June 11-13, from 4-7 p.m. each day. Cost for this developmental camp, with instruction for individual positions, is $75.
The second camp will be "clinic style" and is geared to players ages 13-18. It is June 18-20, from 4-6 p.m. It will feature fielding the first day, hitting the second and pitching the last. Cost is $25 per day.

UH-Hilo tennis: The University of Hawai'i-Hilo will hold a tennis camp, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from June 17-July 26 at the UH-Hilo courts.
There will be three groups a day: advanced (noon-2 p.m.), intermediate (2-4 p.m.) and beginners (4-6 p.m.).
The fee is $60 per week or $300 for the entire camp.
