Yee aids families and young women in the community by providing clothing, money and other items to the Abused Women and Children Shelter and the Mary Jane Center. She provides books and school supplies to local elementary schools and the Read To Me International Organization. She contributes to such organizations as the Disabled Veterans Organization, Food Bank, churches and the Salvation Army.

During her ABWA participation she has been devoted to mentoring and supporting young women by encouraging them to seek higher education to achieve their full potential.

Jacob Yoshioka has been named Vocational Rehabilitation's east section Rehabilitant of the Year for overcoming significant barriers to become a productive citizen. He was honored last month with a legislative certificate recognizing his achievement.

Felicia Marquez-Wong has been named Medical Social Worker of the Year by the National Association of Social Workers-Hawai'i Chapter. She is a bereavement coordinator for St. Francis Hospice.

Her dedication and leadership have resulted in improved and expanded services to grieving people throughout Hawai'i. Besides initiating many programs, workshops and events, Marquez-Wong runs several monthly support groups, is practicum instructor for the University of Hawai'i School of Social Work and Chaminade Department of Counseling and Psychology, and co-founder of the Bereavement Network of Hawaii.

The Golden Callus Award went, for the second year in a row, to Melissa De Sica, a University of Hawai'i-Manoa art student and daughter of Lisa Gill; and to Kathy Orita and Wai Chung Wong, seniors at James B. Castle High School.

Orita, daughter of Doreen and Alvin Orita of Kailua, will attend the University of Oregon. Wong, son of Sau Han Li and Edward Wong of Kane'ohe, will attend the University of Hawai'i.
