Basilan-bound security gets ready

U.S. Navy sailors prepare machine guns mounted on a high-speed boat at Zamboanga city's southern command before heading out to nearby Basilan island in the southern Philippines.

U.S. troops are assisting and training Philippine soldiers operating to rescue an American couple and a Filipino nurse being held hostage by a Muslim extremist group. The hostage crisis is a year old today.
