Komine selected to second team

Advertiser Staff

Nebraska starting pitcher Shane Komine, a former Kalani High School standout and two-time All-American, earned second-team honors in the Big 12 Conference.

Komine, who came back earlier this month after missing five weeks with tendinitis in his throwing elbow, helped the Cornhuskers to a second-place finish in the Big 12.

He ended the season with a 4-0 record and 54 strikeouts in 42 innings. His 1.93 ERA was fifth best in the conference.
