Garcia advances, Irons, Robb eliminated in Fiji

Sunny Garcia remained in contention, but Andy Irons and two other Hawai'i surfers were eliminated during yesterday's heats in the Quiksilver Pro Fiji.
The third round and half of the fourth round were staged yesterday in waves of 8 to 10 feet at Tavarua, Fiji.
Garcia defeated fellow Hawai'i surfer Shane Dorian in the third round.
Irons, who entered the contest ranked No. 1 on surfing's World Championship Tour, was upset by Australian Troy Brooks in the third round.
Kalani Robb of O'ahu's North Shore was eliminated in the fourth round by Brazil's Peterson Rosa.
Hawai'i surfers advance: Kekoa Bacalso from Mililani and Nathan Carroll from Sunset Beach advanced to the fourth round of the junior surfing division (for ages 18 and younger) of the World Surfing Games yesterday at Durban, South Africa.
