Phengsavath wins Amatour tourney

State amateur champion Joe Phengsavath shot the tournament's low round, a 3-under-par 69, to win Amatour's Hawai'i Prince Championship Sunday. Phengsavath's two-day total of 3-under 141 was two better than Andrew Llarenas and three ahead of Randy Shibuya.

Llarenas and Shibuya both closed with 71 but couldn't catch Phengsavath, who started with double bogey, then put together six birdies for the victory.

Phengsavath went into the final round three shots behind Carl Ho and Gary Kong, who both opened with 69 Saturday.
