Taiko master Kenny Endo joins the Honolulu Symphony at 8 p.m. Nov. 8 and 4 p.m. Nov. 10 at the Blaisdell Concert Hall. Endo will perform Takeo Kudo's "Let Freedom Ring"; the MasterWorks concert program also will include Ravel's "Le Tombeau de Couperin" and Bartok's "Concerto for Orchestra," with Samuel Wong conducting. The blues can't get any better than this as the legendary B.B. King stops in our welcoming state for a a series of concerts. King, whose latest CD is titled "Makin' Love Is Good for You," has been performing for more than 50 years. Details:

Lounge lizards, take note: "The Forbidden World of Don Tiki," right, a stage show with exotic sounds and sultry dancers, returns with a colorful show at the South Seas Village at Hawaiian Hut. Don Tiki, a clever, tongue-in-cheek outfit augmented by exotic dancers with eye-popping moves, fuses jungle jazz with Polynesian polyphonics. A post-show DJ party for night owls follows, 11:30 p.m.-2 a.m., with Frank Orrall of Chicago and Keith Kandell of New York, plus G Dogg of Honolulu. Kalapana, below, the contemporary Hawaiian music group, will make its first appearance in the Hawai'i Theatre's Hana Hou series Nov. 15 at the Hawai'i Theatre. The group, which features members Gaylord Holomalia, left, Malani Bilyeu, center, D.J. Pratt, right, and Kenji Sano (not pictured), has logged an impressive stable of hits, most dating back to the 1970s. CONCERT: Nov. 22, 23

Wycliffe Gordon, right, brings his jazz trombone (he fronts a quartet) for a pair of concert gigs, Nov. 22 at the Ko'olau Golf Club Ballroom in Windward O'ahu, and Nov. 23 at Orvis Auditorium at the University of Hawai'i-Manoa. He's a heavy when it comes to improv, so expect a hot jam. Tickets: $20, $15.

STAGE: Nov. 8-16

All for one and one for all — "The Three Musketeers," right, will be resurrected on stage in an adaptation by Paul Raby starting Nov. 8 at the Leeward Community College Theatre. The production promises to be a looker, with nuances of manga, the Japanese adventure comic book style, thanks to costumes by Cocoa Chandelier. Think maybe Halloween with a stylish Kabuki-fueled coloration — black outfits, white faces with red accents. Jedi will appear as Athos, Ely 'Aina Rapoza as Aramis, Gavin Vinta as Porthos, Reb Beau Allen as D'Artagnan (near right) and Kat McCormick as Milady de Winter (far right). FESTIVAL: Nov. 10

Reggae and rock, combined with surfing and skateboarding, means the Van's Triple Crown Surf Fest is around the corner — and it kicks in 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Nov. 10 at Kualoa Ranch. Mainland bands (The Marleys, Pennywise, Face to Face, Long Beach Short Bus, Slightly Stoopid) will be joined by local acts (Generic, Go Jimmy Go, Ooklah the Moc and Pepper), with men and women surfers on hand for autographs, photo ops and an array of "name" surf exhibitors in a village of booths. Add food and beer, skateboarding demos, and you have the makings of an afternoon delight. Tickets: $22 in advance, $28 at the door. 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Nov. 10 / Kualoa Ranch / 526-4400

CONCERT: Nov. 16

The Herold String Quartet from the Czech Republic performs Nov. 16 at Orvis Auditorium, University of Hawai'i-Manoa, as part of the Hawai'i Chamber Music Series. The Prague group includes Peter Zdvihal, first violin; Jan Valta, second violin; Karel Untermuller, viola; and David Havelik, cello. A meet-the-artists reception, from 6:30 p.m. in the UH music building room 36, precedes the concert. CONCERT: Nov. 17

Reel Big Fish, the ska and rock band from Southern California, will perform again at World Café, with Go Jimmy Go opening the show. CONCERT: Nov. 17

"He Makana O Na Mele (The Gift of Music)," a fund-raiser by and for the Hawai'i Youth Symphony Association at the Hilton Hawaiian Village, will feature the Youth Symphony I directed by Henry Miyamura. The guest artist will be Maui-based Keali'i Reichel, award-winning singer, composer, kumu hula and Hawaiiana scholar, who makes an exclusive appearance with some friends. CONCERT: Nov. 23

Richard Thompson, right, a cult favorite for three decades, resurfaces again in Hawai'i with a performance Nov. 23 at the Doris Duke at the Academy. He's an icon among serious folk/rockers, who know him as a singer, a songwriter and a guitarist with enormous prowess on all fronts. Ledward Ka'apana will be the special guest. "The Pied Piper of Hamelin," the children's favorite, has been adapted for the stage by Peggy Anne Siegmund and Dennis Proulx, which school youngsters will be seeing at the Kaimuki High School Performing Arts Center.
