Chanel, Tiffany open at 2100

Chanel and Tiffany & Co. opened new flagship stores in Hawai'i yesterday as the first tenants of the $140 million luxury fashion retail townhouse 2100 Kalakaua in Waikiki.

Another tenant, TOD's, will open today as the third of nine mostly European fashion houses taking space at the 110,000-square-foot, three-story project developed by local firm Honu Group.

Other tenants set to be in operation by a scheduled Dec. 6 grand opening include Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent and Boucheron. The remaining three retailers have not been confirmed.

Bay Club firms planning shuffle

Nikken Corp., Quality Resort Management Inc. and the Bay Club Ownership Resort Inc. notified state officials yesterday that a "transfer of operations" at the three companies will affect most of the companies' 171 employees by the end of the year.

Officials for all three organizations could not be reached for comment yesterday.

The Bay Club's 172 units take up 15 acres at the Waikoloa Resort on the Big Island. The Bay Club employs 98 people, 68 are employed by Quality Resort Management and five more are employed at Nikken Corp.'s Bishop Street operation, according to notices filed with the state Department of Labor and Industrial Relations.
