Fifth Annual "Gifts That Give," a fund-raiser for community service projects of the Junior League of Honolulu, Nov. 8-11 at Ward Warehouse, Ward Centre, Ward Village Shops, Ward Entertainment Center and Ward Gateway Center. A $20 donation ($12 of which is tax-deductible) includes a "Shopping Pass" to the event, featuring a no-host cocktail party, silent auction and informal fashion show, next to Compadres Bar & Grill 5:30-8:30 p.m. on Nov. 8. The pass also entitles the bearer to discounts, promotions, gifts and services from more than 70 businesses at the five Victoria Ward locations Nov. 9-11. Ward Centre will feature a protea festival and sale 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Nov. 9-11. Free gift wrapping and a continental breakfast will be available for pass holders Nov. 9 at the Ward Centre and Ward Warehouse information booths. Breakfast is 9:30 a.m.-noon. Pass holders also get a 20-percent discount on Junior League cookbooks "A Taste of Aloha" and "Another Taste of Aloha" at Executive Chef on Nov. 9. Passes are available at Compadres Bar & Grill, Noa Noa, Junior League of Honolulu's office at 946-6466, and the Victoria Ward Centers management office, 591-8411.
"MistleToe Magic," a designer boutique shopping experience by Ballet Hawaii, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Dec. 1 in Nu'uanu. Three homes on Dowsett Avenue will feature boutiques selling ornaments, poinsettias, wreaths and handcrafted and imported items. Ballet Hawaii will sell dance-themed items and offer gift-wrapping in its "Nutcracker Suite." Tickets are $20 in advance by calling 395-7216, or $25 at the event. Fee covers holiday sweets by Godiva Chocolates and Bubbies Ice Cream, as well as shuttle service from 42 Puiwa Road to the event.
