Voters at Moanalua Elementary School were delayed by a car accident on Jarrett White Road early afternoon yesterday. Police closed the street to traffic while they investigated the two-car collision that left an 82-year-old man in critical condition. The man, a front-seat passenger in a Chrysler, struck his head on the windshield when the car he was in collided with another car turning left from Jarrett White Road onto Mahiole. The man was taken to The Queen's Medical Center where he was in critical condition last night.

Car hits man on Moanalua Freeway

A 29-year-old man was critically injured last night after he was hit by a car on the Moanalua Freeway.

The accident occurred at about 7:30 p.m. in the west-bound lanes near the Middle Street off-ramp. Police traffic investigators were on the scene of the accident late last night and details were not available.

But police said the man, who was on foot, may have been attempting to cross from the east-bound lanes to the west-bound lanes when he was hit by a car. He was taken to The Queen's Medical Center where he was in critical condition.

Police closed Moanalua Freeway and detoured cars to the Middle Street off-ramp for more than two hours to conduct their investigation.
