Bay Area bank joins HiBeam

Silicon Valley Bank has joined HiBeam, a business mentoring group that coaches Hawai'i start-up companies.
The bank is one of several San Francisco Bay Area professional firms to join the two-year-old group, which offers advice and seeks money for Hawai'i companies including Hawaii Biotech, HotU and AssistGuide.
Silicon Valley Bank chairman John Dean, a part-time Hawai'i resident, has invested in several Hawai'i firms.
