What's open and closed Veterans Day

 •  Events set to honor Hawai'i's veterans

Here's a list of what government functions and other services will be affected by Veterans Day tomorrow.

GOVERNMENT:

  • Federal offices: Closed.
  • State offices: Closed.
  • City, county offices: Closed.

SCHOOLS:

  • Public: Closed.
  • UH: No classes; offices closed.

PUBLIC SERVICES:

  • Libraries: Most libraries closed through tomorrow.
  • Libraries closed through Tuesday: Kailua on the Big Island; Kihei and Lahaina, Maui; Lana'i; Princeville and Wailua, Kaua'i.
  • TheBus: Running on Saturday schedule. Call: 848-5555.
  • On-street parking: Free, except for Kalakaua Avenue metered stalls, diamondhead-bound, along Kapi'olani Park; holiday towaway zone parking as permitted by sign; meters in municipal lots must be fed.
  • Traffic: No coning.
  • Trash: Regular residential and business rubbish pickup.
  • Landfills (Kalaheo and Waimanalo Gulch): Open
  • Open Markets: Not in operation.
  • Municipal golf courses: Open.
  • Mail: Post offices closed; no residential or business delivery; regular (blue) collection box pickups; limited Express Mail delivery.
  • Handi-Van: Operating.
  • Humane Society: Open, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Blood bank: Dillingham headquarters open, 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.; downtown center closed.

FINANCIAL SERVICES:

  • Banks/savings and loan: Most closed.
  • Stock market: Open.
  • Credit unions: Most closed.

MUSEUMS/INSTITUTIONS:

  • National Memorial Cemetery (Punchbowl): Cemetery open; office closed.
  • Honolulu Academy of Arts: Closed.
  • Arizona Memorial: Open.
  • Battleship Missouri Memorial: Open.
  • USS Bowfin: Open.
  • Bishop Museum: Open.
  • Botanical Gardens, including Foster Garden, Ho'omaluhia, Wahiawa and Koko Head: Open.
  • Contemporary Museum: Closed.
  • Hawai'i Maritime Center: Open.
  • Honolulu Zoo: Open.
  • 'Iolani Palace: Closed.
  • Japanese Cultural Center (and Historical Gallery): Closed.
  • Lyon Arboretum (UH): Closed.
  • Mission Houses Museum: Closed.
  • Polynesian Cultural Center: Open.
  • Paradise Cove Lu'au: Open.
  • Queen Emma Summer Palace: Open.
  • Sea Life Park: Open. (Kalaniana'ole Highway will be closed, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., from the Hawai'i Kai Golf Course entrance to just past the Makapu'u Beach parking lot.
