Fort Shafter street renamed after Hyland

Fort Shafter's C Street was renamed Hyland Lane in a ceremony honoring Lt. Col Stephen N. Hyland Jr., a former USARPAC Adjutant General killed in the Sept. 11 terrorist attack on the Pentagon.

From left are Hyland's sisters Cathy Hardy and Cheryl Hyland, and father, Stephen Neil Hyland, all of California. A plaque marks the corner of Hyland Lane at Palm Circle Drive, where a new street sign also was placed.
