Independent film subject of talk

"Hope for Filmmakers Outside Hollywood," a free talk about the world of independent filmmaking, will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at the American Academy of Film and Television, 1174 Waimanu St., Suite A. Mark Travis, author of "The Director's Journey," will be the speaker and will focus on what is happening outside of mainstream Hollywood.

The session is being presented by the Hawai'i Movie Studios and Hawai'i Filmmakers. Genie Joseph will moderate.

Seating will be limited to 25.
