Man suspected of threatening sister

A 26-year-old Kahuku man was arrested Sunday on suspicion of threatening his sister with a knife.

The man and his 29-year-old sister got into an argument at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, when he took out a knife and threatened to kill her, according to police.

Police arrested the man for first-degree terroristic threatening. The case is still under investigation.

Alleged car thief arrested at beach

Police have charged a 38-year-old man with auto theft after police said he was in a stolen Mercedes Benz at Hale'iwa Beach Park Sunday morning.

Scott Becker was charged yesterday with unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle.

Police said they found Becker sitting in the parked Mercedes Benz with its headlights on around 8 a.m. They ran a check of the car's license plate number and found the plate belonged to another Mercedes Benz of a different color, according to police.

The car had been reported stolen Oct. 11 from the Hawai'i Prince Golf Course parking lot, police said.
