Give vanilla ice cream a flavor surprise

Plain vanilla ice cream can be flavored to complement a pie: Add cinnamon when serving apple pie or a little lemon zest for lemon meringue pie. Spread slightly softened ice cream onto a marble slab or cookie sheet, sprinkle over and cut flavoring in with the side of a metal spoon.
