Movie Openings

"ABCD": It's an acronym for American-Born Confused Desi (Indian), and this is a tale of culture clash and a generation gap. Opens tomorrow at The Art House at Restaurant Row. (Not rated).

"Bloody Sunday": On Jan. 30, 1972, a civil rights march in Derry, Northern Ireland, ended with a confrontation between some of the marchers and British Army paratroopers. At the end of the day, 13 marchers were dead and 13 in hospital, one of whom later died. This film, shot in the form of a documentary, re-creates the events of the day. Opens tomorrow at The Art House at Restaurant Row. (R).

"Half Past Dead": Steven Seagal stars teams up with Ja Rule and Kurupt in a thriller about prison, $200 million in gold bricks and lots of people/things getting beaten/blown up. "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets": The second in the series of films based on the wildly popular children's books, this installment finds the wizard Harry and friends older and the action faster-paced. "Real Women Have Curves": A coming-of-age tale about Ana, a "plus size" Mexican-American high school graduate who wants to go to college, while her parents want her to work in the family dress factory. Opens tomorrow at Kahala 8-Plex. (PG-13).
