Realty specialist Holzwarth, dead at 75
William W. Holzwarth of Waikiki, a retired executive of Kaiser Aluminum and Chemical Corp. who began a second career in real estate after moving to Honolulu, died Thursday. He was 75 and had been undergoing treatment for cancer.
Holzwarth and his wife, June Anderson, worked as a team specializing in residential property sales for Mary Worrall Associates of Kahala. Holzwarth, who also had a home in Walnut Creek, Calif., came to the real estate business after working 43 years for Kaiser in its industrial relations department.
HOLZWARTH
Holzwarth was born in Parlin, N.J., and served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Alabama in 1945-46. He graduated from Princeton University in 1948 and received an MBA from Harvard University in 1952. He began working for Kaiser in 1952 and retired as the company's corporate director of hourly compensation and benefits in 1996.
He retired as president of the Kaiser Lakeside Federal Credit Union in California in 1996 after serving on its board for 34 years and as president for more than 20 years. He was also active in various community and political organizations in the East Bay. He served as treasurer of the residents' association of the Diamond Head Apartments in Waikiki.
He was a member of Central Union Church in Honolulu and the Community Presbyterian Church in Danville, Calif.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, William Jr., Clinton and David, and two grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held 6 p.m. Tuesday at Central Union Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society, the Boy Scouts of America or Central Union Church.
