Woman in stable condition after Maui shark attack

A shark attacked a California tourist today off Maui.

The woman, who is from San Diego and in her mid 30s, was swimming off Ka'anapali at 10:45 a.m. when the shark attacked her.

She was bitten twice and received severe lacerations to her right shoulder, right end, chest and back.

She was taken to Maui Memorial Medical Center in critical condition, but her condition was upgraded to stable, and she is expected to survive.
