On a recent Sunday morning, our family was sitting on our deck while my husband, Wendell, began telling about the Bible story of Noah and the ark. He explained that people had laughed at Noah because he was building a boat in the middle of a desert.

Wendell asked the boys, "So what kinds of animals did Noah put inside the boat?"

My 5-year-old, Matthew, pulled up to the edge of his seat and said excitedly, "I know! Females and ... and e-males."
