Advertiser Staff

University of Hawai'i junior Victoria Chang has been selected as one of four runners from the West Region to compete in the NCAA Division I Cross Country championships in Terra Haute, Ind., on Monday.

Chang placed 12th in the 189 field at last weekend's Western Regional meet at Stanford University in California. Chang was the second individual to finish who was not a part of one of the four teams in the regional that qualified for the national meet.

Chang becomes the second UH cross country athlete in two years to participate in the national meet. Cheryl Smith qualified last year.

This will be Chang's second NCAA meet. She qualified two years ago when she ran for Stanford.
