Cookbook helps battle cancer
By Wanda A. Adams
Advertiser Food Editor
Julie Scott of Batavia, Ohio, lost her grandmother to lung cancer and has seen her mom battle colon cancer, but she's not sitting around feeling sorry for her family. Rather, she's raising money for the American Cancer Society by compiling a cookbook of recipes, quotes, mottos and photos from anyone whose life has been touched by the disease. She will publish the book and donate some of the proceeds to ACS. Contributors will be credited. In the course of pursuing this project, Scott has heard amazing stories: a woman who lived for 73 years after breast cancer, a son born healthy to a mom having chemotherapy, survivors who have gone on to do amazing things.
