Weekend parking scarce at Blaisdell

A full weekend at Neal S. Blaisdell Center could cause problems with traffic and parking, and the city advises residents to prepare accordingly.

Blaisdell is hosting the Islandwide Christmas Crafts & Food Expo and the 2002 Dragon Tales Live performances today through Sunday.

Patrons are advised to arrive early or seek alternative parking in lots on Ward Avenue and Kapi'olani Boulevard.

Club seeking volunteer to honor

The Soroptimist Club of Windward O'ahu is looking for an outstanding Windward volunteer to honor at its awards luncheon in January.

Application forms for the Bette Stillwell Distinguished Service Award can be obtained by calling Dorothea Ovio at 247-4693 or Nancy Pinkosh at 262-6532.

Applications should include a one-page description of the candidate's service activities, location of service and the nominator's name. Application deadline is Dec. 31.

Nominees should show remarkable commitment of time and/or talent in serving others as volunteers on the Windward side. The award will be presented Jan. 24 at a luncheon at Mid-Pacific Country Club.

Send letters and applications to SIWO-Awards Committee, P.O. Box 1859, Kailua, HI 96734.
