Who doesn't love a parade, especially one featuring Santa Claus and all the other goodies that go along with the season?

The parades continue this weekend in far different parts of the island. Bah-humbug types can consider the following a traffic warning:

• The Wai'anae Coast Christmas Parade begins at 10 a.m. today and expects 1,000 marchers, 30 vehicles, 30 floats and 10 bands. It starts at Wai'anae Boat Harbor parking lot, goes along Farrington Highway and ends at Wai'anae Mall about 11:30 a.m.

• The Hawai'i Kai Christmas Parade begins at 10 a.m. today at Kamiloiki Park, traveling along Lunalilo Home Road and ending at Koko Marina Shopping Center. Bring an unwrapped toy for the Toys for Tots campaign, and drop it off at the collection boxes.

Mark your calendars also for the Kaimuki parade, beginning at 6 p.m. Thursday from St. Louis School/Chaminade University, along Wai'alae Avenue and ending at Koko Head Avenue.

The 56th annual event will include more than 1,000 participants, treats for kids along the route and VIPs such as Gov.-elect Linda Lingle and Mayor Jeremy Harris.
