The Hawaiian Island Ministries' 15th annual Honolulu Conference will be March 6 to 8 at the Hawai'i Convention Center.

With the theme "Give Thanks," the conference will include the following lineup of guest speakers:

• Shirley Dobson. The wife of Focus on the Family founder James Dobson speaks across the country about issues affecting women and families. She is also chairwoman of the national Day of Prayer task force.

• Beth Moore. She is the Texas-based Southern Baptist creator of Living Proof Bible study resource material.

• Jack Deere. A pastor at Trinity Fellowship Church in Amarillo, Texas, he is best known for the "Power Ministries."

• Che Ahn. The pastor of Harvest Rock Church in Pasadena, Calif., is president of The Call movement which started in Washington, D.C., in September 2000 and brought together several hundred thousand youths and parents for a day of prayer. Subsequent gatherings have been held in Boston and New York.#149; Jim Burns. The Honolulu conference regular is president of YouthBuilders, based in Southern California.

• Sy Rogers. The "pastoral care specialist" formerly with Exodus ministries has made news for preaching that he was able to leave the homosexual lifestyle. He is affiliated with Calvary Chapel, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

• Chris Tomlin and Tommy Walker. The singers will serve as guest worship leaders. Tomlin is with the Passion movement, a worship conference drawing GenXers. Walker will perform with Bob Wilson (formerly of Seawind).

The conference, one of the largest of its kind in Hawai'i, draws lay leaders and pastors for Christian churches from around O'ahu and the Neighbor Islands, as well as some from the West Coast. About 4,000 people from about 80 denominations and more than 425 churches attended last year's conference.

The cost for attendance ranges from $25 for one session, if paid in advance via the HIM Web site (www.himonline.org), to $149 ($225 if registering after Feb. 5) for the three-day session. Scholarships are available.
