Savovic back on injured list

Advertiser Staff

Former University of Hawai'i basketball star Predrag Savovic was once again placed on the injured list by the Denver Nuggets yesterday.

According to team officials, Savovic recently re-sprained his right ankle. A sprained right ankle kept him on the injured list from Oct. 28 to Nov. 20.

After coming off the injured list on Nov. 20, Savovic played in five games, averaging 5.0 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game. He scored 11 in his NBA debut on Nov. 20.

The 6-foot-6 guard from Yugoslavia is a rookie free agent with Denver. Starting guard Chris Whitney was activated to replace Savovic.

According to NBA rules, Savovic must sit out at least the next five games before he can be activated again.
