High school notes

First-half champ: By beating Maui, 17-8, Friday night, Baldwin clinched the first-round championship in Maui Interscholastic League football. The Bears went 4-0 in the first half.

The MIL has a bye this weekend and continues second-round action Oct. 10.

Seeking coaches: Kalani High is seeking girls' soccer and softball coaches for the upcoming season. Those interested should call athletic director Gordon Miyashiro at 377-2488.
