Tube Notes

Tonight's Must-See

"Friends," 7 p.m., NBC. Joey really didn't mean to ask Rachel to marry him, you know. He was just on his knee to pick up a ring. Things like that happen. Still, he wants to apologize to Ross. His efforts go so awry that Ross ends up in the hospital. In another twist, Rachel has trouble with the fact that babies cry a lot. That episode, which we haven't seen, promises to pep up a night in which other NBC comedies are quite erratic.

Of Note

"Survivor: Thailand," 7 p.m., CBS. A third person is ousted.

"Push, Nevada," 8 p.m., ABC. Jim's investigation isn't going so well. One problem: He's been arrested for serial murder.

"Frontline: The Man Who Knew," 9 p.m., PBS. John O'Neill was considered a top FBI expert on terrorism. Still, colleagues disliked his James Bond style and his obsession with Osama bin Laden. He quit the bureau and took a job as security chief of the World Trade Center where he died two weeks later on Sept. 11. This documentary traces his life.
