IRVING "KEN" GOTO, 65, of Virginia Beach, Va., died Sept. 18, 2002. Born in Kona, Hawai'i. The second Japanese-American graduate of the United States Naval Academy; retired as commander from a 25-year Navy career; also a civilian naval engineer and planner; and chief of planning, Metro Machine, Norfolk, Va.; developer of the Goto-Pulmer Algorithim. Survived by wife, Carol; son, Stephen; grandson, Andrew; brother, Alan. Mainland service held; burial with military honors 1 p.m. Nov. 1 at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va.
