THE LEFT LANE
Smile! It's IDs at mall

Advertiser Staff and Wire Services

Need a state ID card? Folks from the state ID office will be at Windward Mall, lower level, Macy's wing, 8 a.m.-2 p.m. tomorrow to process applications — a rare outreach. Cost is $15 cash; $10 for those 65 and older. Cards will be mailed after processing. You need proper documentation (birth certificate, citizenship or naturalization papers, or Social Security card).

Hawai'i honeymoons

Bob and Arlene Naylor of New York and Pat and Harry Moneypenny of Pennsylvania are home after a stay at the Outrigger Waikoloa Beach Hotel, but they won't soon forget this trip. The two couples were married 50 years ago on CBS TV during a popular show of the day called "Bride and Groom." Last May, CBS' "Early Show" got them back on the tube — in a sparkling new wedding chapel on the set, but without telling them what was planned (they thought they had tickets to watch the morning talk show).

Also in the audience that day: Noelani Whittington of the Outrigger Waikoloa, with an orchid lei for each, and an offer of first-class, round-trip airfare and a weeklong second honeymoon, all expenses paid, courtesy of the hotel. The Moneypennys, especially, have always wanted to come to Hawai'i, but thought they couldn't afford it.

Make winning wreath

It's not too early to start thinking about your entry for the 17th annual Honolulu Christmas Wreath Contest. Wreath submission day is Dec. 4.

Wreaths may be prepared in three divisions: adult (individual or group), child and youth (individual or group

17 or younger) and theme (individual or group on the theme, "Songs of Christmas"). First-place prize is $150; second place, $100; third place, $75; and the mayor's Holly Award, a best-of-show award, will receive $200 while six honorable mentions will each be awarded $25. For rules and information: Patricia Nekoba or Margaret Toba, 527-6995; Peter Radulovic, 523-4674.
