Advertiser Staff

Live the life of royalty — or at least pretend to — at "A Day at Queen Emma Summer Palace," 9 a.m.-4 p.m. today on the grounds of the palace, also known as Hanaiakalama, at 2913 Pali Highway. The 26th annual event is a fund-raiser for the Daughters of Hawai'i, whose mission is to preserve the palace, as well as Hulihe'e Palace in Kailua-Kona.

Festivities include guided tours, entertainment by Jerry Santos, Mihana Souza, Halau Pua Lililehua o Ku'uleimomi and others, and an array of foods including laulau plates, baked goods, hot dogs, sandwiches and fried saimin. Admission is $3 general, $1 for children; 595-6291.
