WASHINGTON Here are some actions in Congress last week.
Key House votes:
1. Religious groups and politics
The House voted 239-178 Wednesday to reject a bill that would have allowed religious organizations to endorse and even fund political campaigns without jeopardizing their federal tax status. The measure failed to get the two-thirds majority it needed to pass under suspension of House rules. A "yea" vote was to approve the bill.
