Kalihi ridge fire reset, officials say

Firefighters today were back on the ridge above Kalihi Elementary School fighting a reccurring fire that is being deliberately set. Firefighters reported the fire was under control at midmorning.

Gas is suspected of being a contributing cause, Fire Department spokesman Capt. Richard Soo said.

Five companies responded to an 11:20 alarm last night and reported the fire extinguished at 1:10 a.m.

A second alarm was reported at the same address at 3:29 a.m. Soo said firefighters put out a fire at same place about a week ago.
