Grant-writing workshop set

In an effort to extend its grant program to more community groups, the Hawai'i Council for the Humanities will conduct a Public Meeting and Humanities Grant Writing Workshop at 9 a.m. Oct. 26 at Chaminade University.

The workshop serves as an introduction to the HCH program and its goals for public humanities projects, with a focus on how community groups can request grants from HCH for their projects.

HCH is a program of the National Endowment for the Humanities. It provides more than $250,000 annually in support of public humanities projects, historical and cultural preservation activities, and humanities research and publications. Projects can range from documentaries on cultural history to teacher workshops to museum exhibits.

The workshop is free and open to the public. Registration is not required.

For more information, contact HCH program officer Bob Buss at 732-5402 or info@hihumanities.org, or visit the HCH Web site at www.hihumanities.org.
