Man stabbed in Iwilei during robbery

Advertiser Staff

A 46-year old man was stabbed in the stomach about 7:45 p.m. yesterday during what police think may have been a street robbery in Iwilei.

Authorities said the man was approached on Sumner Street, near the Institute of Human Services and the Salvation Army. The people who confronted him demanded money.

The man refused, fought with the robbers and was stabbed.

He was taken by ambulance to The Queen's Medical Center in serious but stable condition.

Detectives were investigating late last night.
