Insurer's system automated
First Insurance, one of the state's largest property and casualty insurers, has automated its policy application system, offering real-time responses between insurance agencies' computer systems and First Insurance's computer systems.
The system allows applications that met pre-set underwriting parameters to receive nearly instantaneous quotes from agents.
Currently, only agencies submitting workers' compensation policies can use the system, but First Insurance said it plans to expand it to other policies.
