TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE

"The Rise and Fall of Jim Crow," 10 p.m., PBS. In many ways, this documentary says, Wilmington, N.C., symbolized a changing South. When slavery ended, Wilmington seemed progressive and prosperous. Then whites struck violently, and many blacks fled. Generations of segregation followed.

OF NOTE

"Wild Kingdom," 5 p.m., Animal Planet. This new special follows Alphonse Roy, a leading wildlife cameraman in India. It catches his attempt to film the big four — lion, tiger, leopard, snow leopard.

"Just Shoot Me" season opener, 7:30 p.m., NBC. This episode was set for last week then postponed. The once-clever "Shoot Me" stuffs in lots of sex jokes, few of them funny.
