TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE
"Birds of Prey" premiere, 8 p.m., WB. Things have been looking bleak in New Gotham City. Years ago, the Joker killed Catwoman. He also shot Barbara Gordon (the daughter of the police commissioner, better known as Batgirl), leaving her paralyzed from the waist down. In addition, Batman has left town possibly to brood. This place needs help. It gets it from a remarkable team. If it keeps this up, "Birds" could edge "Boomtown" and "John Doe" as the year's best new show. (See story on section cover.)
OF NOTE
"The Bronze Screen: 100 Years of the Latino Image in Hollywood Cinema," 4 p.m., Cinemax. This documentary starts in the silent-movie era when even President Woodrow Wilson asked Hollywood to "please be a little kinder to the Mexicans." It continues to the modern age, including interviews with Jimmy Smits, Raquel Welch, Ruben Blades and John Leguizamo.
"Ed," 7 p.m., NBC. Discouraged by Carol's upcoming wedding, Ed decides to wander with a traveler. At the bowling alley, that brings on a fight over who is going to get his office.
"The George Lopez Show," 7:30 p.m., ABC. George's daughter has trouble: The cool crowd in school likes her but not her friend.
