Rainbows rout Tulsa in WAC soccer, 6-0

Rainbow Wahine soccer player Natasha Kai broke records and the hearts of the Golden Hurricane, scoring a hat trick in a 6-0 win over Tulsa last night in Hawai'i's Western Athletic Conference opener at the Waipi'o Peninsula Soccer Stadium.

Kai now has nine goals, two assists and 20 points in her freshman season, breaking junior Arlene Devitt's freshman record of points (17) and goals (7) in a single season.

Her first strike came in the second minute on assists from Devitt and Erin Quattromani. Her second was in the 18th minute off a free kick by Quattromani. Kai also took a cross from Natalie Groenewould and headed the ball into the net in the 55th minute. Carmen Calpo was also credited with an assist.

Devitt scored her first of two goals in the 31st minute when she found the left side of the net with a low driven shot. Devitt also scored on a penalty kick in the 71st minute.

Mia Moe also scored off a Quattromani free kick, kicking the ball between the goalkeeper's legs in the 67th minute.

UH improved to 4-5-2, while Tulsa fell to 4-6-2.
