Key House votes:
1. Iraq resolution
The House on Thursday adopted, 296-133, a resolution giving President Bush the authority to use military force against Iraq. A "yea" vote was to adopt the resolution.

2. Iraq resolution Democratic proposal
The House on Thursday voted 270-155 to reject a Democratic proposal that would force President Bush to return to Congress for a second vote asking for authority to use military force against Iraq after he decides that diplomatic efforts at the United Nations are going nowhere.

3. Defense spending
The House on Thursday voted 409-14 to pass a compromise spending bill that would allocate $355.4 billion for Defense Department programs. A "yea" vote was to pass the compromise.

4. Government operations
The House on Thursday voted 272-144 to pass a resolution that ensures the government will continue operating through Oct. 18. The measure is needed because Congress has failed to pass all 13 spending bills for fiscal year 2003, which began on Oct. 1. A "yea" vote was to pass the resolution.
