Swimmers saved at Turtle Bay cove

Three Turtle Bay Resort security officers and a contract worker helped to rescue two men and a woman who were being swept out by strong currents today from the swimming cove area. City Ocean Safety Lt. Pat Kelly credited the men with bringing in the swimmers, who were not seriously injured. The incident occurred at about 10:30 a.m.

Computer stolen from Nu'uanu store

The RadioShack store in Nu'uanu was robbed last night by a gunman, who fled with a computer. The robbery was reported at 8:45 p.m. and the suspect, who fled on foot, is still at large.

Kapolei man faces sex-assault charge

Police yesterday charged a 33-year-old Kapolei man with first-degree sexual assault on a young child. Joseph Krout is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail for the alleged attack which occurred between Aug. 1 and Sept. 15, police said.
