List Builder accessible online

The state's Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs and eHawaiiGov have launched an online service that allows compilation and downloading of customized lists of registered Hawai'i businesses.

The new "List Builder" service is accessible through the state Internet portal (www.ehawaiigov.org) . The database includes information on more than 55,000 business entities registered in Hawai'i.

List Builder is available to subscribers to the eHawaiiGov service for $75 per year. The lists cost 5 cents per record; subscribers receive a bill at the end of the month.


Tech boot camp helps businesses

A free Computer Boot Camp is offered from 3 to 4 p.m. Tuesdays to all small-business owners interested in using computer technology to improve operations.

The program is sponsored by the Small Business Resource Center, in partnership with the Small Business Administration, the city Office of Economic Development, Hawai'i Small Business Development Center Network, Hawai'i Women's Business Center and SCORE.

The program is open to all clients of the resource center who have attended one of its orientations, offered 9 a.m. Tuesdays and 2 p.m. Thursdays at 1041-A Nu'uanu Ave. For appointments, call 522-8130.


Sessions aimed at minorities

The Minority Business Development Center of Honolulu offers free weekly orientation sessions to minority business owners and prospective entrepreneurs.

The free sessions are from 9 to 10:30 a.m. every Tuesday in Suite 2506 of the Executive Center, 1088 Bishop St..

Census data list is isle-by-isle

An electronic report of newly released social and economic data compiled on an island-by-island basis is available on the Web site for the state Department of Business, Economic Development & Tourism, Census 2000, at www.hawaii.gov/dbedt/census2k/

The report, "General Social and Economic Characteristics for the State of Hawaii, by Islands and Census Tracts: 2000," was produced by the department's researchers..

The 121-page reportis available in Adobe Acrobat format. Data tables in the report are also available separately in Microsoft Excel format.
