"Abandon": A campus thriller about a student who thinks her boyfriend, who disappeared two years earlier, is stalking her. Benjamin Bratt plays a cop. "Quitting": Chinese movie star Jia Hongsheng, the actor's parents and everyone else on the screen play themselves as he relives a seven-year period in the '90s during which he spent four years in a downward spiral on hard drugs. Opens tomorrow at The Art House at Restaurant Row. (R).

"Read My Lips": A thriller crossed with a psycho-sexual study, about a hearing-impaired office worker (Emmanuelle Devos) and the ex-con (Vincent Cassel) she hires as her office assistant. Opens tomorrow at The Art House at Restaurant Row. (Not rated; intended for adults).

"The Ring" Naomi Watts stars in a supernatural thriller, based on a hit Japanese film, involving an urban myth about a videotape that somehow causes the death of anyone who watches it seven days after viewing.
