"Providence," 7 p.m., NBC. Ever since Syd accepted Owen's marriage proposal, things have been shaky. Tonight, she meets and frets about his parents, played by John Bennett Perry (the father of "Friends" star Matthew Perry) and Sally Kellerman.

"John Doe," 8 p.m., Fox. A skeleton is found on a site once owned by someone who looked a lot like Doe.

"Live by Request," 6-8 p.m., A&E. It's Carlos Santana's turn to give a live concert; he takes requests by phone and Internet.

"Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," 9 p.m., NBC. Michael Gross ("Family Ties") guest stars as a retired lawyer whose wife is found raped and murdered. Suspects abound because of her unpopular job of getting HIV patients to alert their sexual partners.
